QUESTIONS ABOUT GETTING STARTED?
The process of starting therapy is not easy, to say the least. We know it can feel daunting. It shouldn’t be as hard as it is. Here are some answers to questions you may have about how this all works. And if there’s anything else we can help with, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
SESSIONS
We offer sessions in-person at our West Village office (near the W4th St. and Christopher St. subway stops), or online via a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.
INSURANCE
We are “out-of-network” providers, but we will provide billing statements or “superbills” that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Depending on your plan, you may be able to obtain partial, or even full reimbursement for the cost of our services.
Here are some questions to ask your insurance company to find out about your coverage:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What is my mental health deductible?
What proportion of my charges does my insurance company reimburse after I meet my deductible?
Do I have an “out-of-pocket maximum,” after which my insurance company reimburses 100% of fees? If so, what is that?
How many therapy sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
COST
Our out-of-pocket fees vary depending on the clinician and the client’s financial situation but generally range from $175-$350. A sliding fee scale based on annual income may be considered for clients who experience financial hardship.
